If you have been using WAMPServer 2.0, like i do, and thought of upgrading the PHP version to 5.3 or Apache version, then you are might be facing this weird bug in WAMP, which even don’t let the WAMP start.
This Error showed up every time i tried, to start the server.
Here is a fix for this:
Step 1 : Check if the Apache service is running, it is named as “wampapache”, if yes, stop the service.
Step 2 : Open the php.ini file, usually found at the following path “<wamp install path>\bin\php\<your php version>\”
Step 3 : Locate the following line(s):
;extension=php_oci8.dll ; Use with Oracle 10gR2 Instant Client
;extension=php_oci8_11g.dll ; Use with Oracle 11g Instant Client
Step 4 : Edit these Lines as follows:
Step 5 : Make sure there is no trailing space after each line
Step 6 : Now, locate the php.ini file in the apache version you are using, which can be found at the following path “<wamp install path>\bin\apache\<your apache version>\”
Step 7 : Repeat steps 3-5, for this file
Step 8 : Locate the file wampmanager.ini, which can be found the root of your WAMP installation.
Step 9 : Find the string “WAMPSTARTUPACTIONEND” in the file, and delete everything present after this string(need not worry, as this file is re-written every time WAMP starts)
Step 10 : Start WAMP
Note : If the problem still persists, repeat the steps above carefully
Good Luck 😉
